February Moments in the Woodford Manor Aged Care Community
February offered several opportunities for residents to spend time together across the Woodford Manor aged care community. From shared meals and music to cultural celebrations and outings, the month reflected the everyday rhythm of life here—people coming together, choosing activities that interest them, and enjoying each other’s company.
Memory Support High Tea
A lovely day was marked by a delightful high tea experience for memory support residents. The afternoon included music by Edward and specialty coffees from the café. Residents spent time together over tea and conversation, making the most of the relaxed setting.
This gathering was supported through the #maggiebeefoundation, which continues to encourage meaningful food experiences in aged care.
Valentine’s Week Activities
Valentine’s Week began with Deal or No Deal and a round of bingo. Residents joined in the games before gathering for a Valentine’s Morning Tea, where lucky door prizes added a sense of anticipation to the morning.
Later in the day, residents were treated to a special performance as Elvis serenaded the room. Music filled the space and brought plenty of smiles as people listened, sang along and enjoyed the atmosphere.
Chinese New Year Celebration
Residents welcomed the beginning of the Chinese New Year festivities by observing a group of outstanding dancers. The performance offered a chance to take in the colours and movement of the celebration.
During the event, Betty was the winner of the Chinese silk scarf.
Morning Café Gathering and Painting Class
One morning coffee and café event featured American food, prepared following a resident’s request. The gathering later wrapped up with the Men’s Group, offering time for conversation and connection.
The previous day included a Painting Class, where residents spent time focusing on creativity and sharing ideas as they worked.
Bus Trip to the Glasshouse Mountains Café
Residents also enjoyed a bus trip to the Glasshouse Mountains Café. It was a pleasant day to head out together and spend time in a different setting while sharing good food and conversation.
