The Woodford Wrap autumn 2026: glamour, milestones and a one-point thriller

Autumn at Woodford Manor Aged Care was a season to remember, and the latest edition of the Woodford Wrap captures every moment. Our quarterly newsletter is now available to read online in an interactive digital format, complete with videos you can play as you turn the pages.

A Mother’s Day like no other
Four weeks of preparation went into our Mother’s Day glamour photoshoots, one of the most memorable events our lifestyle team has ever staged. Every lady was pampered with professional hair styling and makeup before stepping in front of the camera for her own portrait session. The photos were revealed at a beautiful high tea, where Iris, 87 years young, presented handmade sunflowers to every lady in the room. The finished portraits were such a hit that several of our residents featured in the local paper.

Milestones and friendly rivalry
Ruth celebrated her 103rd birthday surrounded by friends and staff, an occasion so special it also made the local news. Competition ran hot across the quarter too. Our state against state football challenge came down to a single point, with New South Wales edging out Queensland 34 to 33, complete with a football-themed cake and BBQ. The six-month snooker competition reached its grand final, our casino fun day brought a spinning roulette wheel to life, and bocce on the lawn kept everyone on their toes.

Food, outings and creative flair
The kitchen team’s buffet breakfasts continued to draw a crowd, alongside cultural morning teas spanning Ireland, Japan, America and France. Residents enjoyed a bus trip to the Glasshouse plantation cafe, an Elvis concert, painting classes using everything from toothbrushes to balloons, and a surprise visit from a gleaming 1966 Ford Mustang.
