Woodford Manor Aged Care had a June to remember, from the roar of a Mustang engine to the rivalry of State of Origin, the warmth of long-running volunteers and the joy of an unexpected reunion.

Monday bingo with our long-serving volunteers

Monday bingo is a fixture in our week, and the turnout never disappoints. Our wonderful bingo ladies have been giving their time to run sessions for 11 years now, a commitment that means so much to everyone here. We are deeply grateful for the hours, the laughs and the dedication they bring each and every week.

State of Origin: Kevin vs Betty and the toilet paper trophy

Game 2 of State of Origin had us all on the edge of our seats. NSW held on to beat QLD 30–26 in a result that wasn’t decided until the final moments. Here at Woodford Manor, the real drama played out between Kevin and Betty, whose rivalry for the coveted toilet paper trophy was every bit as fierce as the match itself. A brilliant night.

A Mustang surprise for Margaret and Terry

The Mustang made a welcome return, pulling up with very little warning and a lot of style. Margaret and Terry were the lucky ones this time, heading out for a spin that left smiles on faces right across the home. There is something special about a classic car, and even more special about sharing the moment with others.

Lions Club morning tea

Once a year, the Lions Club puts on a wonderful morning tea for us, and this year was no exception. There was live music to enjoy, Leo had the pleasure of winning a raffle, and Margaret was treated to a truly lovely surprise: a catch-up with a school friend she hadn’t seen in 60 years. Moments like that are what community is all about.
