Celebrating Woodford Community Spirit: A Month Full of Connection, Care and Celebration

May was a truly heart-warming month at Woodford, with community spirit coming alive through meaningful events, purpose-filled celebrations and intergenerational connection.

We started the month by celebrating Mother’s Day early with a delightful high tea. Residents were spoiled with sweet and savoury treats, all accompanied by the soulful performance of the extremely talented Ariana. Each of our lovely guests received a beautiful rose—a small gesture that brought big smiles. Thank you to our kitchen staff who, yet again, outdid themselves to create a lovely event for everyone.

Our community connection continued with a colourful morning at the Lions’ Community Concert held at the Woodford Memorial Community Centre, where residents enjoyed the musical talents of local performers—warming the hearts and feet of our audience.

We were privileged to pause and appreciate our dedicated nursing team on International Nurses Day, reflecting on the vital role they play in our home. The care, compassion, respect and commitment our nurses show to our residents has a profound impact on their wellbeing.

The laughter and cheer from our Minute-to-Win-It competition still echo through our halls, as we welcomed children from Oak Tree Academy Kindy for a fun-filled time of fast-paced games. This high-energy event offered a fantastic opportunity for residents to connect with the younger generation and share plenty of smiles, support and spirited competition.

May showcased the Woodford community spirit at its finest—from celebration and recognition to fun, laughter and heartfelt connection. We are so proud to be part of a community that continues to grow stronger together.
