Discover Woodford Manor community activities in November, featuring Melbourne Cup celebrations, Remembrance Day, live entertainment, creative classes and festive preparations at Woodford Manor Aged Care.
November has been an energetic and joyful month filled with connection, creativity and meaningful moments through our Woodford Manor community activities. From special commemorations to lively entertainment and festive preparations, our residents have enjoyed a wonderful variety of experiences that reflect the warm and vibrant spirit of life at Woodford Manor Aged Care.
The month began with the much-anticipated Melbourne Cup, which proved to be a highly enjoyable occasion for everyone involved. The celebrations kicked off with a creative toilet paper horse racing competition that brought plenty of laughter, followed by Fashion on the Field, where Kay and Ian proudly secured first place. The day concluded on a high note with Margaret and Dorothy receiving lucky door prizes, making it a truly memorable event for all.
On the 11th of November, Woodford Manor paused to honour Remembrance Day, a time of reflection and respect. The ceremony was thoughtfully supported by Crystal and Kerrie, whose contributions helped create a meaningful and respectful commemoration for residents and staff alike.
It has been an exceptionally busy and fun-filled period across the home. The appearance of the mischievous Elf in the Post Box kept many residents entertained, with several successfully spotting him — perhaps a sign that he will need to find a better hiding place next time. Dawn also lent a helping hand to staff as preparations began for putting up the Christmas trees, marking the start of our festive season.
Entertainment took centre stage with the arrival of Elvis, who delivered an outstanding concert that lived up to expectations. The week then drew to a relaxed close as Rob enjoyed sitting outside with a beer while preparing for the upcoming Men’s Group, highlighting the importance of social connection and shared moments.
Over the past two weeks, our Woodford Manor community activities have continued at a steady pace. Residents have been busy gardening outdoors, enjoying a creative Painting Class, and celebrating at our Christmas Party with Oak Tree Academy, which was filled with joy and festive cheer. The Christmas display is now being set up throughout the home and is progressing beautifully — stay tuned for photos soon.
These moments reflect the strong sense of community, engagement and belonging that define life at Woodford Manor Aged Care, where every day offers opportunities for connection, celebration and enjoyment.
