Woodford Manor Community Events: A Month of Music, Food and Togetherness

Discover Woodford Manor community events from October, featuring music, celebrations, food experiences and festive fun that highlight our vibrant aged care community.

October was a joyful and energetic month at Woodford Manor Aged Care, filled with memorable moments that truly reflected our strong sense of community. From music-filled afternoons to meaningful food experiences and festive celebrations, our residents and staff shared many occasions that brought connection, laughter and togetherness.

One of the highlights was a High Tea in Memory Support, where residents enjoyed a relaxed afternoon indoors due to the warm weather. Edward’s music once again created a lovely atmosphere, and Pat was delighted to win the lucky door prize. This event set the tone for an exciting month ahead.

Music continued to play a central role in our Woodford Manor community events. Residents were treated to an unforgettable performance during the Kiwi Elvis Concert, which had the audience thoroughly entertained. As a special moment, Elvis sang Happy Birthday to Deb ahead of her upcoming celebration and presented her with a beautiful boxed flower arrangement, much to everyone’s delight.

Food and nutrition were also proudly celebrated as Woodford Manor marked the conclusion of our involvement in the Maggie Beer Foundation Trainer Mentor Program. To honour this achievement, we hosted the Maggie Beer Inspired Longest Lunch, an event that generated excitement among both residents and staff. The kitchen team enjoyed showcasing their skills, layering flavours and increasing nutritional value while creating a warm, social dining experience that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

Live entertainment continued with the introduction of regular weekend concerts. The Woodford Singers Performance filled the home with music, smiles and sing-alongs, reinforcing how powerful shared musical experiences can be in building connection and joy.

Our residents also began preparing for the festive season, thoughtfully crafting items for the upcoming Christmas Craft Sale on December 5th. Alongside this, anticipation grew for our Elf in the Post Box Initiative, launching from November 1st, with residents eagerly looking forward to checking their post boxes each day. Adding to the warmth of the month was a special visit from our much-loved furry friend during Puppy Rosie’s Visit, which brought smiles to everyone she met.

Rounding out the month was a lively and laughter-filled Halloween Celebration, where residents embraced spooky fun through games, challenges, trick-or-treating and a best dressed costume competition. The joy and enthusiasm on display perfectly captured the vibrant spirit of life at Woodford Manor.

These Woodford Manor community events continue to foster meaningful connections, celebrate individuality and create a welcoming environment where residents truly feel at home.
