Woodford Manor Community Festivities - December Highlights

Experience the joy of December 2025 at Woodford Manor Aged Care, featuring Christmas celebrations, community events, festive concerts, and meaningful connections with residents, families and volunteers in our vibrant aged care community.

The festive spirit was alive and well at Woodford Manor throughout December, with our community coming together for memorable Christmas celebrations that brought joy, laughter and connection to residents, families and staff alike.

A Month of Meaningful Moments

December proved to be one of our busiest and most rewarding months, filled with activities that showcased the heart of our community. Our residents' creativity shone during our craft sale preparations, with dedicated hands working throughout the week to create beautiful handmade items. The craft sale itself was a wonderful success, bringing together residents, families and the wider Woodford community.

We were honoured to welcome students from Delays Creek Primary School for their delightful Christmas concert. The children's enthusiasm was infectious, and our residents thoroughly enjoyed the festive performances. It's these intergenerational connections that remind us of the importance of community bonds.

Celebrating Those Who Care

On Volunteer Day, we hosted a special thank you party for our volunteers, recognising the invaluable contribution these dedicated individuals make to daily life at Woodford Manor. Their commitment enriches our community in countless ways, and we're deeply grateful.

Rosie and Natalie, firm resident favourites, brought extra cheer when they shared Christmas games, balls and bubbles with everyone. The residents were absolutely delighted, and Rosie's visits are always eagerly anticipated.

The Three Communities Christmas Party

The highlight of our December was undoubtedly the three communities Christmas party, held with our sister facilities. It was a tremendous success, capturing the true spirit of Christmas through shared celebration. We awarded prizes, enjoyed wonderful entertainment from Kiwi Elvis, and reflected on the year's highlights through a special PowerPoint presentation showcasing 2025's key events.

This special day wouldn't have been possible without the hard work of our Lifestyle team, the support of management and staff, and the excellent catering. The photos taken throughout the day will serve as treasured memories of a truly fantastic occasion, proudly supported by the Maggie Beer Foundation.

Music and Memory

In our Memory Support Unit, we enjoyed a beautiful Christmas lunch concert with musician Edward, whose lovely performance created a warm, festive atmosphere. The combination of music, good food and good company made for another fantastic Christmas lunch that residents will remember fondly.

Festive Fun and Games

December was filled with engaging activities that brought smiles and laughter. Our tin ping bowl activity was an absolute hit—residents loved it! We also enjoyed festive games throughout the season, and our door decorating competition brought out everyone's creative side. Congratulations to Betty for the most creative door, and to Mopsie, Lillian and Margaret for their community awards.

The Woodford Singers graced us with a wonderful Christmas carol concert, filling Woodford Manor with joyful voices. Residents joined in enthusiastically, singing along and truly embracing the spirit of Christmas. It was a beautiful reminder of how music brings people together.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

On Christmas Eve, residents gathered for festive Christmas bingo, complete with cheerful music playing in the background. The atmosphere was filled with smiles and plenty of cheer, and it was lovely to see families joining in the fun.

Christmas Day itself was extra special as residents received their gifts, bringing delight and joy. Earlier in the week, we drew our Christmas raffle and awarded prizes to our top seven winners—congratulations to all!

We also enjoyed exploring the lollie shop and capturing special Santa photos, creating more cherished memories of the season.

Looking Back, Looking Forward

As we wrapped up December, we shared our November monthly recap with the community. This new initiative helps everyone stay connected to the vibrant life at Woodford Manor, celebrating our shared experiences and the moments that matter most.

From all of us at Woodford Manor, we wish everyone a wonderful festive season. December 2025 has been a month filled with connection, celebration and the warmth of community—exactly what makes this place special.
