March at Woodford Manor has been a month full of laughter, resilience, creativity, and community spirit.
We were delighted to welcome the energetic four-year-olds from Oak Tree Academy for their weekly visits. Their singing, dancing, and glitter-filled Easter bonnet creations have brought an extra spark to our days. Their joyful presence is always eagerly anticipated by residents and staff alike – a cherished part of our weekly routine.
Our residents have also enjoyed the company of Rosie and her delightful puppy during her fortnightly visits. The smiles she brings are a true testament to the kindness of our volunteers, and we are so grateful for the time and love they share.
St. Patrick's Day was celebrated in style with a lively ukulele concert and some very festive attire. Awards were given for the best dressed, and the spirit of the day was felt in every corner of the Manor.
The casino event was another highlight, with the lifestyle team putting on a fantastic day of games and fun. Residents are already looking forward to the next one!
We’re especially proud of the resilience and dedication shown during the recent cyclone. Our team acted swiftly to secure all outdoor areas and ensure the continued safety of our residents. Many of our staff even stayed overnight to provide support, and we are incredibly thankful for their unwavering commitment.
In quieter moments, creativity continues to flourish. Betty, one of our talented residents, has turned her passion for diamond art into a source of inspiration and generosity. Her handmade cards and large-scale artworks are not only beautiful but also raise funds for raffles and prizes, including for our upcoming Titanic Day. Betty has also been sharing her skills with fellow residents, encouraging others to discover new creative passions.
And of course, there’s always good food and great conversation at Woodford. From tasty sausage rolls to a hearty men’s group gathering with beer, wine, and future project planning – there’s never a dull moment.
